Covering all of Dare County, The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau offers a free travel planning guide book, as well as online listings of area accommodations, activities, historic attractions, dining, and more. Two visitors centers, Aycock Brown at Milepost 1 in Kitty Hawk, and Roanoke Island Welcome Center located on Highway 64 bypass at the base of the Virginia Dare Memorial Bridge. You can pick up area literature and maps at both of these locations.

The area’s closest general aviation airport operated by the Dare County Airport Authority. The terminal features auto rental agencies, pilot snooze room, flight planning center with WSI Pilot Briefing and Weather Channel access. The airpot utilizes two asphalt runways, the longest of which is 4300′ long. The Airport Operations Staff monitors the Unicom Frequency 122.80 MHz and is eager to assist you.
