The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau
Covering all of Dare County, The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau offers a free travel planning guide book, as well as online listings of area accommodations, activities, historic attractions, dining, and more. Two visitors centers, Aycock Brown at Milepost 1 in Kitty Hawk, and Roanoke Island Welcome Center located on Highway 64 bypass at the base of the Virginia Dare Memorial Bridge. You can pick up area literature and maps at both of these locations.
Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce
The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit membership organization representing 1100 businesses on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Their service area includes Currituck County, Dare County (including Hatteras Island) and Ocracoke Island in Hyde County.
Currituck Travel & Tourism
Visitor information for Currituck County, which includes Corolla and the Currituck mainland. Their website also lists Currituck County accommodations, restaurant, activities and attractions, and more.
Currituck Chamber of Commerce
The Currituck Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, membership organization representing over 350 businesses in northeast North Carolina and southeast Virginia. The Chamber promotes growth and development of our members and acts as a resource for businesses in the area.
Hyde County Chamber of Commerce

Norfolk International Airport (ORF)
Located in Norfolk, VA, it the closest commercial airport to the Outer Banks, about 90 minutes drive north. Norfolk International Airport is serviced by most major air carriers.
Dare County Regional Airport (MQI)
The area’s closest general aviation airport operated by the Dare County Airport Authority. The terminal features auto rental agencies, pilot snooze room, flight planning center with WSI Pilot Briefing and Weather Channel access. The airpot utilizes two asphalt runways, the longest of which is 4300′ long. The Airport Operations Staff monitors the Unicom Frequency 122.80 MHz and is eager to assist you.
